Installation & Crating in Greer

We cover Greer, about thirty-five minutes from Gaffney and straddling the Greenville and Spartanburg county line. The BMW plant and GSP airport sit on its doorstep, which makes this the most relocation-driven market on our map - and relocation is where crating earns its keep.

Greer is unusual because of what surrounds it. The BMW plant, its supplier base and the GSP international airport are all within a few minutes, and the result is a steady population of people moving in and out on a company timetable, frequently across borders.

That produces two very specific jobs. The first is the full move-in: a house that needs everything mounted, hung and assembled inside a short window because the family arrives on a fixed date. We would rather do that as one visit than four.

The second is relocation crating. When a piece is leaving the country, the wood packaging itself is regulated - ISPM 15 requires solid wood packing material to be heat treated and stamped, and untreated wood gets a shipment refused at the port. Tell us the destination when you call, because it changes what we build with and it is a far easier conversation to have before the crate exists than after.

Away from the corridor, Greer is a normal and rather good market. Greer Station and the older streets around it have established housing with plaster and real chimney breasts. The Riverside side and the newer subdivisions off Highway 101 are open-plan and built for a large television over a fireplace.

Greer's other advantage is position. It is close enough to Gaffney that we can reach it comfortably, and it sits between Spartanburg and Greenville, so a Greer job often slots into a day that was already going that way.
